Terms and Conditions – Camping, Courses and Retreats v4.0
The contract is for a short-term holiday stay on the property made between the client and the owners of Forest Life and the Moulin Bleu (“the owners”), Pablo Mayne and Hannah Mayne, binding from such time that booking is made and inclusive of all the following conditions.
By making a booking and submitting the electronic on-line form the client contracts on behalf of himself/herself and all those in his/her party and represents that he/she has the authority to accept these conditions on behalf of and binding upon all guests in his/her party.
Bookings are accepted on the understanding that entry to the property for camping is taken for holiday purposes only and that, excepting babies, the number of people accommodated at Forest Life is limited to that entered on the booking form.
Forest Life Courses and RiverLife Retreats
Forest Life offers both courses and retreats. Both courses and retreats offer accommodation options. All accommodation options are self catering. The client must supply all utensils and camping equipment if anything other than the Bell tent option is selected. This includes sleeping bags. Limited equipment is available to hire. Content and itineraries of both courses and retreats are flexible and will be provided on arrival. Content is dependant on weather conditions. Delivery of content is not guaranteed. Forest Life have the right to reschedule or cancel content at short notice.
‘Add-ons’ are additional services or guided events that can be added at the point of booking or during the stay subject to availability. Forest Life have the right to cancel add-on services. Full refunds for add-ons will be provided if the add-on cannot be provided during the stay.
Rules and Procedures
Clients are required to observe the rules and familiarise themselves with the procedures contained in the information leaflet provided on arrival. This information leaflet contains important Health and Safety information.
Clients must abide by the procedures for disposal of waste food and rubbish.
Clients are expected to behave in a reasonable manner at all times and to comply with the instructions and leadership of staff. Forest Life owners reserve the right to remove any client(s) from the course or retreat without recourse to repayment for that course or retreat and against the client(s) will if necessary.
Circumstances that may warrant exclusion from a course include (without limitation): intoxication, use of recreational drugs, abusive or inappropriate behaviour, inappropriate or unsafe use of equipment, excessive noise, inability to meet the rigours of the course for physical or mental reasons, or through lack of appropriate equipment.
If you are in any doubt about your ability to meet the rigours of the course, please contact your GP before booking. For removal of any party under such conditions, Forest Life will not be liable for any losses as a result and Forest Life is also entitled to any reasonable costs arising from removal of said client(s) payable upon demand.
Forest Life and Riverside retreats offer a number of accommodation options. Prices may vary depending on the accommodation options selected (see website.)
A non-refundable deposit will be required for all accommodation options and the balance is to be paid at least 8 weeks before the course/retreat. The client is strongly advised to take out holiday insurance.
Cancellation by client
If the booking is cancelled by the client for any reason the following charges will be applied:
(a) Cancellation more than 8 weeks before the commencement of the course, will result in the deposit being retained.
(b) Cancellation less than 8 weeks before course commencement will result in 50% of the course fee being payable.
Right of Entry
Whilst respecting the reasonable privacy of the client, Forest Life or agents of the owners reserve the right to access all areas of the property at all times, if necessary, for repairs and emergencies.
Care of the Property
The client shall take all reasonable and proper care of the property, tentage, utensils and effects in or on the property and leave them in the same state of repair, condition, cleanliness and tidiness as at the commencement of the period.
Breakages or Damage
The client is required to inform the owner of any damage or breakage in or around the property promptly so that it can be repaired and replaced.
The client is bound to reimburse the owners for replacement, repair or extra cleaning costs where reasonably demanded by the owners for damage caused by the client.
Flora and fauna
No person shall cut or otherwise remove trees, branches or foliage or pick flowers without the explicit permission of the owners. You are asked to respect all wildlife in the area. It should be noted that the area is within regional nature reserve. Open fires are allowed only in the designated areas and in appropriate fire baskets or fire bowls.
Smoking or cooking is not permitted anywhere inside provided accommodation tentage or near to buildings or in the area of the garage.
Pets are only permitted on the property with prior discussion with the owners.

This acts as our risk assessment and is updated on a regular basis. Children particularly must be fully supervised in the areas of the river, steep woodland and in the vicinity of fires. The property is not suitable for persons with limited mobility.
The owners of Forest Life are not liable for any loss or damage to any client’s property or any property belonging to a member of the client’s party howsoever caused.
The client acknowledges that the property is near a river and has steep areas and, as such, some areas may be hazardous. Care should be taken when walking around all areas of the property.
The client or members of his/her party cannot hold the owners of Forest Life liable for any personal injury/death howsoever sustained where the owners and/or their employees have used reasonable skill and care; and/or where caused by the fault of the person(s) affected or any member(s) of their party (including inadequate supervision of children); and/or where caused by the fault of a third party, and/or where caused by an event that could not have been reasonably foreseen or avoided.
You will be asked to acknowledge that you have read and understood the hazards, risks and these terms and conditions and that you accept them on booking.
